Galley Wood Handcrafted Bread Scoring Lame

Ladyfinger Style

Compact bread scoring lame, excellent for detailed and decorative cuts in breads and doughs. The thumb screw ensures easy adjustment of blade tension and secured angle. The design allows for easy angle adjustment to accommodate any scoring application, especially sourdough breads. The blade can retract completely inside the lame for safe storage and travel. The elongated design with rounded edges allows for a comfortable and safe grip and control when scoring.

Available in a variety of hardwood species including Maple, Cherry, Hickory, Walnut, Brazilian Cherry(Jatoba), Purple Heart, Padauk, Zebrawood, Redheart, Yellowheart, Lacewood, Bloodwood, and Marblewood. Prices vary based on species. Lames are finished with a beeswax polish(matte natural finish).

Each lame comes loaded with one double edged razor blade and a sealed 5 pack of blades.

Instructions:

To open the blade: Loosen thumbscrew slightly, the blade should swing out. If it does not, a light tap on a surface should provoke it. Tighten at desired angle and score away.

To close and retract the blade: Loosen the thumb screw slightly, Lay the blade down on a flat surface(avoid using fingers, blades are sharp), Then tighten the blade to lock it inside the slot.

To change the blade: Loosen and completely remove the screw. The blade will drop out. Discard of the blade safely. Align the new blade so the hole in the blade lines up with the hole in the lame. Insert screw, and tighten thumb nut.
